About Bebek

"While this CD is self released, don't expect any future work from Philadelphia's most promising band to be that way. Bebek could be the most European band ever from America. With a sexy psychedelic dance sound that meshes the sound of Morcheeba, Stereolab and Radiohead, this band has found a perfect vehicle for success. Sultry lead singer Lynn Michalopoulos was all the talk at this year's SXSW and this band will get signed in a big way in the very near future. Until then, you can still trance out to these lush electronica beats at medium size venues, mostly on the east coast. Pick up this six-song ep and play it really loud to impress your friends and family before this band becomes a household name." -Skratch Magazine (Dec., 2006 - review of Open Eyes)

Bebek has built upon the success of their 2006 EP Open Eyes and has completed their new record "Smile, Broadcast Tattoos" which has not yet been released, but you can check out three of the tracks from the new album, "Marching Dolls", "I'm Mine" and "8am" at www.myspace.com/bebekmusic. With more touring in the works for the near future, keep an eye out for Bebek coming to your town. Read more about Bebek...

As Bebek prepares to make its debut at Philly's legendary Trocadero Theater, the band received a great review from Smother.net. Here's a preview: Bebek knows how to be sultry when that’s necessary and this Philly-based group turns anyone on to their whirling dervish of sex. Catchy hooks round out the album and breathe in a style that fits this talented group all too well." Smother.net (April 2007)

Finally, our drummer Anthony Matthews recently received a sponsorship from the drum manufacturer Viper Drums based in Colorado. Congratulations Anthony!
